These scarves were first made for The Cambridge University Colleges in woven wool lack of raw materials in The Second World World forced manufacturers to adopt other methods of production, namely using sections of worsted wool from rolls to create a scarf, rather than weaving it in one piece. The results were so striking and distinctive that they never looked back!
