If you prefer to wash at home, do so gently by hand in cool to hand-warm water, using a wool detergent such as Woolite or Stergene (follow the guidance on the bottle). Lay flat to dry and reshape carefully while still damp.

Wool is a remarkable fibre — naturally resistant to odour, moisture and bacteria — so it doesn’t need washing as often as other fabrics.
